Data Scientist - Malta

Swish Analytics is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team and contribute to the development of their sports data products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and statistical modeling, with a focus on sports-specific domain knowledge. They will be responsible for ideating, developing, and improving predictive models for sports betting products, as well as providing production support and triaging for existing data science-backed products. The Data Scientist will collaborate with data engineering and product teams to deploy new models and constantly strive to improve model performance through rigorous experimentation. A bachelor's degree in a related technical field is required, with a master's degree preferred, along with demonstrated experience in developing models for various sports.

• Ideate, develop and improve machine learning and statistical models for sports betting products
• Support and triage current data science backed products
• Develop contextualized feature sets using sports specific domain knowledge
• Contribute to all stages of model development, from proof-of-concepts to deployment
• Constantly improve model performance through offline and online experimentation
• Analyze results and outputs to assess model performance and identify weaknesses
• Adhere to software engineering best practices and contribute to shared code repositories
• Document modeling work and present to stakeholders and partners
• Bachelor degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related field
• Demonstrated experience developing models at production scale for various sports
• Expertise in Probability Theory, Machine Learning, Inferential Statistics, Bayesian Statistics

• Bachelor degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related technical subject area; Master degree highly preferred
• Demonstrated experience developing models at production scale for NBA, NHL, MLB, Tennis, college basketball, or college football
• Expertise in Probability Theory, Machine Learning, Inferential Statistics, Bayesian Statistics, and Statistical Modeling
• Strong knowledge of sports analytics and sports betting
• Ability to ideate, develop, and improve machine learning and statistical models
• Experience with production support and triaging of data science backed products
• Ability to develop contextualized feature sets using sports specific domain knowledge
• Proficiency in software engineering best practices and contributing to shared code repositories
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
