About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining existing programs and updating data collection processes to meet the goals and objectives of the Diabetes Program. The role involves collecting and managing data for analysis of business functions, productivity, and redundancies, ensuring adherence to HIPAA standards. The coordinator will create and maintain the Diabetes Registry using RPMS, including developing search logic with ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes. They will also consult with program staff and other professionals to develop data collection and storage methods using various programming options and systems. The position requires attending meetings, representing the department, and providing professional data presentations. Additionally, the role involves preparing documentation for database systems, instructing users, and creating documentation for program logic and operation. The coordinator will utilize the Diabetes Management System (DMS) for registry maintenance, patient management, report generation, and data retrieval from the Electronic Health Record (EHR). They will also use the QMan User Manual to extract data related to diabetes and gestational diabetes, and provide data management support for grant-funded departments. Ensuring accuracy of data, compliance with Privacy and HIPAA standards, and supporting CMS Standards are key aspects of this role. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of direct work experience in data management within the healthcare field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid, unrestricted insurable driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RPMS, DMS, iCARE, QMan, VGEN, BPRM, PCC, and EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes related to diabetes.
  • Familiarity with Navajo Nation law and Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional data presentation when requested.
  • Prepares documentation of database systems and instructs system users and staff in their operation.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of the detail logic and operation of programs developed.
  • Uses the Diabetes Management System (DMS) for registry maintenance, patient management, report generation, and data retrieval from the EHR.
  • Utilizes the QMan User Manual to extract data related to diabetes and gestational diabetes.
  • Provides support, guidance, and assistance for grant-funded departments with data management and data extraction.
  • Ensures accuracy of impromptu details and that recorded and stored information is correct.
  • Generates data reports for various initiatives such as DEAP, grants, QAPI projects, and GPRA.
  • Utilizes RPMS, QMan, and PCC Reporting to ensure data validity and extractability.
  • Ensures compliance with Privacy and HIPAA standards and supports compliance with established CMS Standards.
