About The Position

The Data & Event Student Assistant will assist staff with updating alumni records in the university database and CRM, ensuring accuracy and consistency. This role involves providing on-site event support for major alumni events, including set-up, check-in/registration, guest assistance, troubleshooting, and breakdown. The assistant will also help maintain detailed registration, attendance, and tracking reports for alumni events, activities, and programs. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, following departmental and university safety procedures, and participating in trainings and meetings. The position also entails performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Must be a currently enrolled CSUF student (new or continuing) during the semester of employment.
  • One (1) year of business office experience required.
  • Microsoft Office experience in Word and Excel (required)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AI and how to use it safely and ethically
  • Professional phone etiquette; pleasant voice and demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to work effectively with coworkers and customers in a constructive, positive manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
