About The Position

The Data Entry Worker is an employee in the shipping and receiving department and a member of the shipping and receiving team. This role is responsible for performing manual labor and data entry needed to process with the highest standards of food quality. The employee is required to notify any issues regarding food safety and general safety awareness. The role involves working in a cold, wet environment (36-36°F) and requires the use of various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The position also involves training coworkers and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience of work in a similar environment preferred.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with fast-changing priorities and keep up with workflow.
  • Work in a team effort environment.
  • Able to follow simple instructions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge or experience working with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Basic organization skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Constant walking, standing, bending neck, bending waist, squatting, climbing, twisting neck, twisting waist.
  • Constant use of both hands (simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching below and above shoulder level).
  • Daily lifting and carrying requirements for 8 or more hours: 2 oz - 25 lbs up to 7 feet high, 20 feet in distance.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Classic Salads Food Safety and GMP Policies.
  • Complete Classic Salads Standard Data Entry Training Procedures.
  • Use proper lifting and folding boxes techniques occasionally.
  • Report all deficiencies to management.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
  • Move product and/or materials manually as required.
  • Report all injuries and incidents.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Report any foreign objects while performing duties to immediate supervisor.
  • Communicate with management and/or other employees (Production supervisor, QA, Machine operators, Palletizer, etc).
  • Be conscious to reduce material spoilage.
  • Able to work in a cold wet environment 36-36 °F.
  • Work/cross-train in other areas as needed.
  • Fold boxes occasionally (1 lb to 3 lbs).
  • Lift bags occasionally (2 oz to 4 Lbs).
  • Stack boxes occasionally (3 Lbs to 4 Lbs) 5-6 boxes high.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Train coworkers as needed.
  • Lift finished product boxes occasionally (3 lbs to 15 lbs).
  • Stay in assigned work area.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection (goggles), face shield, gloves, slip-resistant shoes, wet/rain suit, apron, etc.
  • Be aware of surroundings due to forklift traffic.
  • Use computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Famous).
  • Keep track and communicate with production employees materials rotation FIFO (First in first out).
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Verify case counts, generate appropriate tag with adequate product code continuously.
  • Use basic math and organization skills daily.
  • Verify that all product that goes into storage room with appropriate tags (raw and finished product).
