About The Position

The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely entry and processing of prescription (Rx) orders, ensuring data integrity throughout the workflow. Serves as a key point of contact for originating labs, supporting smooth order processing and resolving questions or concerns to keep jobs moving efficiently through the lab.

Requirements

  • Able to read prescriptions.
  • Working knowledge of company billing policy, lens and coating availability, frame manufacturers, and service codes.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Able to read and write English well.
  • Able to memorize large amounts of data accurately.
  • 10-key by touch and typing speed of 45 wpm.
  • Computer skills (Windows, MS Office).
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and patience.
  • Able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Able and willing to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or optical lab environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately mount prescription lenses into designated frame sides (right/left), ensuring proper sizing, fit, and orientation. Utilize specialized beveling techniques tailored to individual prescriptions to achieve optimal lens placement.
  • Perform manual adjustments using hand tools to align frames according to optical standards. Ensure four-point contact, square temple alignment, minimal front wrap, and symmetrical pad arms. Correct any bridge twist and verify even temple closure for a balanced fit.
  • Confirm the correct axis positioning for multifocal lenses, including bifocals and progressives. Ensure horizontal alignment and visual accuracy to support optimal wearer experience.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of lenses and frames to identify and correct cosmetic defects, scratches, or imperfections. Verify that all components meet internal quality benchmarks and industry standards.
  • Tighten and secure all screws, ensuring there are no gaps in the eye wire and that lenses are firmly seated within the frame. Maintain structural integrity and durability of the final product.
