About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Entry Clerk with strong bookkeeping skills to join our finance team in Burlington, Ontario on a temporary basis for approximately 4–6 months. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can ramp up quickly, hit the ground running in QuickBooks, and bring proven experience managing multi-currency transactions. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records across international operations during this assignment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a data entry, bookkeeping, or accounting support role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience handling multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange entries (CAD/USD experience essential).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits/credits, AP/AR, reconciliations).
  • Working knowledge of Canadian sales tax (HST/GST) processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage high transaction volume.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly learn internal systems and processes with minimal onboarding.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Availability to commit to the full 4–6 month assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain financial data in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop).
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Manage multi-currency transactions (specifically CAD, USD, including foreign currency invoicing, payments, and exchange rate reconciliations.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations across multiple currencies.
  • Record journal entries, post adjustments, and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with HST/GST tracking and reporting as required.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Generate routine financial reports and assist with audits as needed.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data; escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ASPE/IFRS (as applicable), and Canadian regulatory requirements.
