About The Position

As a working student in SAP Next Gen, you will partner with the SAP Client Services | Data Platforms and Agile Delivery | Data Engineering Center team in Newtown Square. You will contribute to production data engineering and integration work, with deliverables connected directly to team goals and opportunities to build a portfolio of SAP work. SAP Next Gen offers access to mentors, development programs, and a global network of students and early professionals. The role involves building data pipelines and models using Azure services; creating REST APIs and event-driven integrations; developing MCP servers that connect enterprise data to AI platforms such as Claude and Joule; supporting data products in SAP Business Data Cloud; and creating dashboards and reports with Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud. You will also help improve data quality, documentation, monitoring, and automation workflows.

Requirements

Currently a student ready to contribute alongside studies; the role is described as a working-student position.
A master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, AI, or a related technical field.
Interest in problem solving and data.
Interest in AI, data, cloud, APIs, MCP, or analytics.
English communication skills.
Willingness to learn and take ownership.
Curiosity, adaptability, resilience, creative thinking, clear communication, collaboration, initiative, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness.

Nice To Haves

Basic SQL knowledge.
Experience or familiarity with REST APIs and web services.
Familiarity with Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, or other reporting tools.
ETL experience.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain data pipelines that load data from APIs, databases, files, and business systems.
Create and improve Azure Data Explorer tables, functions, and KQL queries.
Monitor data jobs and help resolve issues promptly.
Maintain clear documentation and uphold data quality standards.
Create and maintain REST APIs.
Build Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
Publish and manage APIs through Azure API Management.
Implement OAuth 2.0 and Microsoft Entra ID authentication.
Design reusable integration and automation solutions.
Build MCP servers that provide governed, controlled access to enterprise data and services.
Connect data products with Claude, Joule, and other intelligent platforms.
Create tools and automated workflows for business users.
Support prompt design, testing, and documentation.
Build production data pipelines with Azure Data Factory.
Develop data models and write KQL queries in Azure Data Explorer.
Support data products in SAP Business Data Cloud.
Build dashboards and reports in Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud.
Improve data quality, documentation, monitoring, and automation workflows.
