About The Position

The Data Enablement Operations Analyst will be part of the data enablement practice, working closely with the Enablement Principal to execute the strategy for how departments adopt and use the platform. This role involves working within partner departments to understand their workflows, assist them in becoming productive on the platform, and relay learnings back to the team. The analyst will also be responsible for automating repetitive workflows to allow the team to focus on supporting departments. This is a Permanent Exempt (PEX) full-time position with an anticipated duration of thirty-six (36) months, excluded from the competitive civil service examination process and serving at the discretion of the appointment officer. It will not result in an eligible list or permanent civil service hiring.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, economics, finance, computer science, UX/UI design or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in one of the fields above or a closely-related field].
  • One (1) year in the information systems field, including technical support, content management, administration of network applications, system analysis, or service design.
  • Substitution: One year of additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree.
  • Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running a service, program, or operations or customer-success function, with a track record of keeping work moving independently.
  • Strong written communication skills and a habit of following up proactively.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and identify more efficient ways to complete work, then share those improvements with others.
  • Familiarity with Asana, Airtable, SharePoint, or similar workflow and collaboration tools.
  • Comfort with low-code or automation tools; coding experience is not required but is a plus.
  • Experience working in or with government organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage intake for the enablement practice, including triaging requests, keeping departments informed about status, and ensuring clear ownership.
  • Onboard departments to the Unified Data Platform (UDP), from initial contact through active use, coordinating agreements, processing access requests, leading kickoffs, and supporting analysts during their initial weeks.
  • Support governance processes by coordinating data-sharing agreements and maintaining accurate, current, and published citywide dataset and enterprise system inventories.
  • Build self-service guides and documentation to address frequent questions.
  • Coordinate the training program by scheduling cohorts, tracking attendance, and collecting feedback.
  • Identify and automate manual, repetitive operational steps to improve efficiency.
