About The Position

This role involves providing smart hands support within a data center environment. The engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to network and server hardware, cabling, installations, removals, and troubleshooting. The position requires adherence to schedules, policies, and procedures, while also contributing to continuous service improvement and supporting system configurations.

Requirements

  • More than 24 months of work experience
  • Sound knowledge of network and server hardware and components
  • Sound knowledge of copper and fibre cabling systems
  • Sound knowledge of equipment racking and stacking (installation)
  • Sound knowledge of installation and removal of field replaceable units (e.g. hard drive, memory, line cards, transceivers)
  • Sound knowledge of network monitoring systems and usage
  • Sound knowledge of device and database backup & restore processes
  • Sound knowledge of troubleshooting and testing
  • Sound knowledge of network connectivity
  • Sound knowledge of out of band management tools such as iLO and Drac systems
  • Root cause analysis assistance
  • Professional business communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Leadership and/or team experience
  • Written and verbal English proficiency
  • Written and verbal Local language proficiency

  • Awareness of Command Line Interface (CLI) commands
  • Awareness of physical storage and backup procedures (e.g. tape library systems)
