Data Center Technician (Early Talent)

Nebius
•$48,000 - $72,000

About The Position

The Nebius IT Data Center Technician Early Talent program is a paid, structured three-month work experience for current university students in Computer Science or a related field, recent graduates, or early-career specialists. Participants work as active members of the data center floor team alongside experienced technicians and operations staff, developing foundational technical skills and learning Nebius operational standards and safety procedures. The program begins with close supervision and progresses toward greater independence as participants demonstrate and validate their competency. Participants receive direct guidance from an experienced Data Center Technician. They learn to identify, handle, and document server components, rack hardware, and data center equipment; assist with installation, cabling, labeling, inventory, staging, replacements, and decommissioning; and learn copper and fiber cabling practices. They also learn to use ticketing and asset management systems and support documentation of equipment, cabling, and maintenance work. After training and validation, participants may perform basic rack-and-stack tasks and update tickets independently within their assigned scope. Participants complete required safety training, access procedures, and equipment-handling certifications, and must follow all site protocols. They may not work unsupervised on live infrastructure or perform tasks outside their validated scope without technician authorization. Weekly mentor check-ins, training modules, and shadowing of senior technicians support development throughout the program. The program has a competency-based progression: orientation and shadowing in weeks 1–3; assisted execution in weeks 4–7; supervised independence in weeks 8–10; and demonstrated competency in weeks 11–12. Strongly evaluated participants may be considered for Nebius’s early talent pipeline. The role requires extended periods standing, lifting and positioning equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted, working at heights and in confined spaces, working in variable temperatures including cold aisles, handling small components and cabling, and pushing or pulling carts and server sleds up to 500 pounds on level surfaces. The stated base compensation range is $48,000–$72,000 USD. The posting also describes the compensation as $48k–$72k OTE.
