About The Position

Serverfarm is seeking a Data Center Technical Content Specialist with direct experience working in a data center environment. This role is crucial for ensuring that our training content accurately reflects real-world data center operations, rather than just theoretical knowledge. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with critical infrastructure systems such as electrical distribution, mechanical cooling, and their associated monitoring and control systems. This position is not a remote documentation role; it requires someone who has performed the work and can translate that practical knowledge into effective training materials for technicians of all experience levels. Requirements

• Hands-on experience as a data center technician, ideally in a hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation environment.
• Working knowledge of critical infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, mechanical cooling, and associated monitoring and control systems.
• Solid understanding of system design and sequence of operations (SOO).
• Familiarity with data center industry best practices for safety, security, availability, and reliability.
• Ability to take complex technical information and turn it into clear, usable content for technicians at varying experience levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to give direct, constructive feedback on documentation.
• Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders including technicians, engineers, trainers, vendors, and leadership.
• Detail-oriented with a quality and governance mindset.
• Confident in reviewing content and requesting changes based on operational risk and accuracy.
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and safety-focused.

• Experience reviewing technical documents or training content is a plus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Review technical training scripts, lesson plans, and sequence of operations (SOO) documentation for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Serverfarm operating procedures.
• Validate training assessments to confirm they measure real competency and operational readiness at the appropriate technician role levels.
• Identify gaps, outdated content, and inconsistencies across the training library and drive updates to keep materials current.
• Partner with operations, engineering, and learning and development teams to ensure training content supports Serverfarm's business objectives and operational maturity model.
• Review vendor technical bulletins and product updates for impact on Serverfarm operations and training requirements.
• Engage with equipment vendors and internal engineering stakeholders to ensure vendor-specific content is accurate and correctly contextualized for Serverfarm environments.
• Provide clear, constructive written and verbal feedback on technical and training documentation to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support standardization of training content across Serverfarm sites while allowing for site-specific requirements where necessary.
