About the position
The job overview for the Data Center Supervisor position at Core Scientific is to assist the data center manager in managing the performance of the data center and building a high-performing team. This includes maintaining client service level agreements, creating a culture of professionalism and operational excellence, and overseeing warehouse operations and asset management. The supervisor will also be involved in the design and development of new expansions or retrofits within the data center and ensuring compliance with corporate initiatives and product developments.
Responsibilities
- Assists the data center manager with the management performance within the Data Center and build/maintain a world-class team of Technicians and Maintenance personnel.
- Assists with maintaining client SLA and SLA compliance reporting and integration with Client Success Team.
- Assists data center manager to create and maintain a culture of professionalism, operational excellence, and a place where people love to work and build a career in.
- Provide leadership to all team members in the interest of providing professional and personal advancement.
- Oversees all aspects of the warehouse and assists with the management of all Client Hosted and Core Scientific assets within every phase of the asset disposition.
- Assists with keeping the Data Center compliant with corporate initiatives, priorities, and product developments.
- Understand and have strong knowledge of all mission-critical systems that keep the data center operating at the highest level.
- Participate in the design and development of new expansions or retrofits within the Data Center, resource management, and help establish critical workflow for projects needed within the Data Center.
- Must be willing to relocate as a Data Center Manager when future sites open.
- Assists data center manager with deployments, decommissions, Data Center operations, and training of new employees.
- Oversees all aspects of the warehouse shipping, receiving, inventory management, and quality control.
- Assists with Asset Lifecycle Management from arrival to Data Center to RMA retirement.
- Responsible for recording received inventory and deployment deliveries.
- Loads and unloads trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Operates forklift and other warehouse tools and equipment, assists in training of warehouse equipment.
- Manages time off requests and approval of timesheets.
- Prepares and/or distributes incoming/outgoing shipments; weighs, packs, logs, and otherwise prepares parcels and goods for shipping.
- Procure, track, inventory, and store equipment/materials and notify the requesting party of the status throughout the procurement process.
- Assists with planning for deployments of machines. Wiring, cabling, and capacity preparation.
- Assists with the management of labor for deployments and Data Center operations.
- Assists with Goal setting for the performance and evolution of the Data Center.
- Assists with defining, maintaining, and enforcing performance metrics in all facets of the Data Center.
- Ensures employees are following safety rules and procedures.
- Ensures employees are trained and understand how to complete the jobs they are performing.
