Sabey Data Centers is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support a 24/7, mission-critical data center campus in Quincy, Washington. This is a hands-on role involving state-of-the-art power and environmental systems, offering long-term career growth and opportunities for internal promotion. The technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the data center campus, including technical and administrative spaces, ensuring the reliable operation of infrastructure that powers global technology platforms. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • General maintenance experience or demonstrated technical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize in a 24/7 environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to learn new systems
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to respond to on-call situations
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine preventive maintenance on data center electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and addressing equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Collaborating with vendors and specialists for complex repairs and equipment replacements
  • Monitoring environmental, power, and security systems
  • Responding promptly to alarms and alerts, investigating root causes, and taking corrective action
  • Documenting incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned
  • Executing scheduled inspections, cleaning, testing, and maintenance activities
  • Assisting with planned equipment upgrades while minimizing operational disruption
  • Maintaining accurate equipment and asset records
  • Assisting with inventory tracking and ordering replacement parts
  • Keeping equipment rooms, racks, cable trays, and work areas clean, labeled, and organized
  • Coordinating with external service providers for maintenance, installations, and repairs
  • Ensuring work meets Sabey standards for safety, quality, and performance
  • Following established safety, security, and operational procedures
  • Participating in disaster recovery and business continuity activities
  • Upholding Sabey’s information security policies
  • Supporting senior technicians and engineers on projects and maintenance efforts
  • Contributing to a collaborative, learning-focused operations team
  • Leveraging AI tools and automation platforms to streamline documentation, communication, and tracking
  • Embodying Sabey core values and performing other duties as assigned
