About The Position

Sabey Data Centers is hiring a Data Center Maintenance Technician in East Wenatchee, Washington. The role supports reliable, mission-critical data center operations by maintaining the cleanliness, efficiency, and performance of HVAC systems. It is a hands-on, primarily outdoor position involving HVAC cleaning, preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, documentation, and assistance with installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects. Candidates do not need extensive HVAC experience; the role offers the opportunity to learn alongside an experienced operations team and develop technical skills in the data center industry. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility to support occasional shifts, weekends, or holidays as operational needs require. The position is hourly and non-exempt, with a target discretionary bonus. The anticipated annual base salary range is $44,179–$66,269.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and willingness to develop HVAC maintenance skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing cleaning and maintenance tasks thoroughly.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, including maintenance and safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members while also working independently.
• Proactive, dependable approach to work and willingness to learn data center-specific maintenance practices.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically active tasks, including standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting or carrying loads of 50 pounds or more.
• Flexibility to support occasional shifts, weekends, or holidays as operational needs require.
• Willingness to learn and use digital tools and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain HVAC equipment, including air handling units, fans, ductwork, filters, coils, and condensers.
• Replace air filters according to preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate replacement records and inventory.
• Inspect and clean evaporator and condenser coils to prevent buildup that could affect cooling efficiency.
• Maintain ventilation components and exhaust systems to support proper airflow and temperature control.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance using appropriate tools, materials, and techniques.
• Document completed maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and service history in maintenance logs and reports.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with data center operations team members and support operational requirements.
• Assist with HVAC equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
• Follow established safety procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and proactively identify potential safety concerns.
