About The Position

Orchid Insurance, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, is seeking a Data and Integration Architect to design, plan, implement, and manage solutions that connect systems and data sources. The role defines integration strategies, selects technologies such as APIs and middleware, and ensures secure, efficient, and scalable data exchange. It is also responsible for developing and maintaining application software for various systems. The architect establishes data integrity standards and works with product, design, and other team members to identify functional and non-functional requirements. The role develops and maintains integration and data architecture standards, contributes to application solutions from design through deployment, and provides guidance on application features and solutions. The position participates in production support, incident management, code and architecture reviews, and technology standards discussions.

Requirements

BS in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
10+ years of experience with database development technologies, including MySQL, Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
Five or more years of personal insurance business knowledge.
Proven ability to design and manage APIs and event-driven architectures.
Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) tools and automated testing frameworks.
Strong knowledge of modern integration architectures and languages.
Familiarity with cloud-based integration platforms.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Ability to collaborate with third-party solution providers and integration parties, including offshore partners.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing, and changing environment and embrace DevOps and Continuous Delivery practices.

Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling, data warehousing, SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud storage solutions, business intelligence platforms, dashboards, data mining, and visualization tools such as Power BI.
Deep understanding of integration architectures, including APIs, event standards, data architecture standards, system integration standards, and governance frameworks.
Familiarity with web services, microservices, SOAP, JSON, API gateways, MQ messaging, other messaging and streaming technologies, and business process automation tools.
Competence with CICD pipeline technologies and tooling for automated builds, delivery, and regression testing.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain data integrity standards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across platforms.
Work with product, design, and other team members to identify functional and non-functional requirements.
Develop and maintain API, event, data architecture, and system integration standards, as well as governance frameworks for a complex data and integration portfolio.
Develop or improve architectural approaches, functional features, and application components from design through deployment.
Participate in production support triage, incident management, code reviews, architecture reviews, and technology standards discussions.
Provide guidance, recommendations, leadership, and practical feedback on the use, development, and maintenance of application features and solutions.
Collaborate with third-party solution providers, integration parties, and offshore partners on solution design and development.
