About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Data Analyst position. Mental Health Data Science provides statistical collaboration, data analytic methodological development, and data management for psychiatric and mental health research. This role involves extensive statistical collaborations with over 50 psychiatry researchers, providing expertise and analysis to projects including biomarkers from brain imaging and neurocognitive tasks, clinical trials, implementation studies, measurement studies, cohort studies, causal analysis of prescribing practices, and momentary assessment studies. The position is within the Mental Health Data Science division, affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Requirements

  • MS in Biostatistics, Statistics or MPH in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field.
  • Solid academic training in biostatistics methods include techniques such as generalized linear modeling, multilevel and longitudinal models.
  • Strong analytic skills.
  • 2 years of experience in statistical programming in R or Python.
  • Working knowledge of SAS.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in statistical consulting.
  • Prior experience analyzing data arising from psychiatric research.

Responsibilities

  • Statistical analysis of clinical, epidemiological, and biological data.
  • Planning and performing statistical analyses.
  • Writing reports for various externally funded research projects.
  • Preparing tables with results.
  • Drafting final statistical methods and results sections for peer-reviewed journal publications.
