About The Position

The Population Health Data Analyst collects, cleans, and analyzes large healthcare datasets (EHR, claims, social determinants) to identify trends, measure clinical outcomes, and support value-based care strategies. They create dashboards, reports, and predictive models to improve community health, manage risks, and optimize financial performance.

Requirements

  • Strong skills in SQL, data visualization tools, and statistical software (SAS, R, or Python).
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic) and claims data.
  • Ability to perform complex data manipulation, statistical analysis, and interpretation.
  • Understanding of population health management, healthcare metrics, and epidemiology.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, complex datasets using SQL, SAS, or R to identify health trends, disparities, and utilization patterns.
  • Develop dashboards and interactive reports (using Tableau, Power BI, or Epic SlicerDicer) to communicate findings to clinical leaders and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate program performance, care coordination, and clinical outcomes, providing recommendations for care optimization.
  • Analyze claims data to monitor risk-adjusted costs and efficiency in value-based contracts.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA, IRB).
