About The Position
The Population Health Data Analyst collects, cleans, and analyzes large healthcare datasets (EHR, claims, social determinants) to identify trends, measure clinical outcomes, and support value-based care strategies. They create dashboards, reports, and predictive models to improve community health, manage risks, and optimize financial performance.
Requirements
- Strong skills in SQL, data visualization tools, and statistical software (SAS, R, or Python).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic) and claims data.
- Ability to perform complex data manipulation, statistical analysis, and interpretation.
- Understanding of population health management, healthcare metrics, and epidemiology.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large, complex datasets using SQL, SAS, or R to identify health trends, disparities, and utilization patterns.
- Develop dashboards and interactive reports (using Tableau, Power BI, or Epic SlicerDicer) to communicate findings to clinical leaders and stakeholders.
- Evaluate program performance, care coordination, and clinical outcomes, providing recommendations for care optimization.
- Analyze claims data to monitor risk-adjusted costs and efficiency in value-based contracts.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA, IRB).
