Data Analyst, People Analytics

MicrosoftRedmond, WA
$86,100 - $187,400

About The Position

This role is for an analyst who prefers building tools over running reports and is energized by new AI technology and helping others use it. The position is within Microsoft's People Analytics team, focusing on building AI systems to provide self-serve data answers to the HR community. The core idea is that AI handles common queries, allowing people to focus on deeper analysis, methodology, and trust. The role involves hands-on building of AI tools, using GitHub Copilot to enhance capabilities, improve performance, and fix issues. It requires staying connected with the analysts who use these tools to ensure the built solutions meet their needs and are adopted at scale. As a super-user of tools like Cowork, Scout, and GitHub Copilot, the individual will also provide feedback to the product groups to shape the roadmap of Microsoft's AI products. The role emphasizes collaboration with other builders and helping the broader People Analytics team adapt to new ways of working. This is not a traditional analyst role focused on producing analyses or reports, but rather on using an analytical background to build tools for self-service and acting as the voice of the analyst within the team. Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and organization to achieve more, and employees are expected to embody a growth mindset, innovate, and collaborate within a culture of respect, integrity, and accountability.
