About The Position

The Data Analyst III will conduct applied empirical research in health economics, health services research, and health policy alongside research-active faculty in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Miami Business School. This full-time research support role is primarily quantitative and spans the research process, including developing research questions and identification strategies, cleaning and analyzing data, applying causal inference methods, producing tables and figures, and drafting manuscript sections for peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations. The position is dedicated to faculty-led projects and does not include protected time for independent research. Co-authorship opportunities are determined by the lead faculty member based on substantive intellectual contribution. The role is suited to master’s- or PhD-trained candidates seeking a sustained career in applied research as part of a faculty-led team; it is not a postdoctoral position. The position is based in person on the Coral Gables campus. The expected start is as soon as possible, ideally by December 2026 and no later than January 2027.

  • Strong proficiency in Stata (preferred) and/or R for econometric analysis.
  • Demonstrated interest in academic research in health economics, health services research, health policy, or a related field, and prior experience producing research deliverables such as tables, figures, or manuscript sections.

  • Familiarity with IRB processes and regulatory requirements for human subjects research.

  • Summarize data and preliminary findings for faculty and research teams.
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform study design and manuscript framing.
