About The Position

We are looking for a Data & AI Product Engineer (m/f/d) to further develop the data and AI-based product features of our SaaS solutions. Our platform connects guests, businesses, and caterers in digital company gastronomy and corporate catering – from menu planning to evaluation. You combine technical product thinking with a strong understanding of data and artificial intelligence. Together with other teams, you will develop solutions that translate complex information from menus, sales, feedback, trends, and external influencing factors into clear, usable recommendations for action. Whether it's consumption forecasts, smart menu optimization, or personalized guest communication – your work helps our customers make better decisions faster, reduce food waste, and sustainably improve economic results. Requirements

Completed studies in (Business) Informatics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a comparable background
Experience in the development of data-based or AI-supported applications, ideally in a SaaS or product environment
Very good understanding of data modeling, analytics, and machine learning
Experience in building and operating modern data architectures and pipelines, ideally with Microsoft Fabric and AI Foundry
Practical experience with cloud-based data platforms and production-oriented data workflows
Very good knowledge of Python and SQL
Experience with API integrations and basic backend development
Ability to think about technical solutions from a product and user perspective
Structured, independent way of working, as well as high motivation and flexibility
Enjoyment of quickly testing new ideas, iteratively developing them, and integrating them into products
Very good English skills and good German skills are an advantage

Nice To Haves

Knowledge in feature engineering, time series forecasting, and recommender systems is an advantage
Ideally, experience with LLM APIs and modern AI toolchains including MCP

Responsibilities

End-to-End Feature Development: Responsibility for Data & AI features from idea to prototyping to productive integration into our SaaS platform
Data Preparation and Feature Engineering: Preparation and transformation of data from user events, POS, menu, IoT, and CRM systems
Generative AI & LLMs: Implementation and integration of LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral) for chatbots, text analysis, and automated content creation
API Design and Integration: Conception and connection of APIs and MCPs
Recommendation Systems: Development of intelligent recommendation systems for personalized menus, promotions, and order forecasts
Forecasting and Time Series: Building time series analyses and forecasting models for predicting demand, visitor frequencies, and sales developments
Rapid Prototyping: Quick testing and iteration of new ideas in close collaboration with Product, Design, and Backend
Data Infrastructure: Contribution to scalable data infrastructure – from pipelines and feature stores to model deployment and monitoring
Product Collaboration: Close collaboration with the Product team to translate data-driven insights and AI models into real customer experiences
