About The Position

The Data & AI Consultant is a client-facing advisor who helps shape ARKANCE’s AI Foundations practice and guides customers in turning data and AI ambitions into practical, achievable direction. The role leads readiness conversations, frames use cases around business outcomes, and translates clients’ data realities into actionable recommendations. It is primarily advisory, focused on discovery, assessment, design, and recommendation rather than production builds, while retaining sufficient hands-on expertise to prototype concepts and prove feasibility when needed. Working with advisory, practice, and delivery teams, the consultant contributes to AI-related services within ARKANCE’s advisory offerings and supports clean transitions into delivery. The role also helps develop AI Foundations offerings, assessment methods, maturity dimensions, reusable frameworks, accelerators, and market-facing thought leadership. It advises on data and AI governance and helps define strong data and AI advisory practices for clients in the AECO industry.

Requirements

  • Experience in a client-facing data, AI, analytics, or digital advisory role, ideally in professional services, consulting, or a technology partner environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational data and AI readiness and translate findings into practical, outcome-focused recommendations.
  • Strong grounding in data fundamentals, including structure, quality, governance, and reuse.
  • Working understanding of AI and machine learning approaches and where they apply.
  • Hands-on ability to prototype and prove concepts, with judgment about when to hand production builds to a delivery engineer.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to guide executive and operational stakeholders through unfamiliar topics.
  • Ability to help build a practice by developing reusable frameworks, assessment tools, and offerings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the AECO industry and the Autodesk ecosystem, or the ability to build that context quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client data and AI readiness assessments, evaluating current data structure, quality, governance, and capabilities.
  • Frame data and AI use cases around measurable business outcomes and help clients distinguish valuable opportunities from merely possible ones.
  • Facilitate client workshops and design sessions to develop an executable data and AI direction.
  • Translate technical data and AI concepts into actionable language for executive and operational stakeholders.
  • Contribute data and AI perspectives to broader advisory engagements and ensure target states and roadmaps account for readiness.
  • Help shape AI Foundations offerings, assessment methods, and maturity dimensions.
  • Develop reusable advisory accelerators, including readiness frameworks, use-case libraries, assessment tools, and design patterns.
  • Shape AI-related services within advisory offerings and align them with the broader Assess & Plan approach.
  • Contribute thought leadership and market-facing material about data and AI in the AECO industry.
  • Prototype concepts, validate feasibility, and demonstrate possibilities to clients.
  • Partner with the Lead Data Engineer and delivery team to hand off advisory work and context when delivery is required.
  • Stay current on data and AI platforms, models, and governance practices relevant to AECO clients, and apply that knowledge to the practice.
  • Advise on data and AI governance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; duties and responsibilities may change based on business needs.
