About The Position

This position involves fluency in all dark meat debone production work on a rotation basis, including jobs such as hanger, trimmers, styler, bone trimmer, box liner, scale operator, CVP operator, labeler, and stackers. The role requires performing these positions in the dark meat department and participating as a member of the team. This includes contributing to the development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, coordinating work for best practices, and attending team meetings. The individual will foster team cohesiveness, accept responsibility for identifying areas lacking cohesion, and work with the team leader and members to resolve issues and achieve synergy. The position also requires familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understanding the responsibility to maintain this familiarity, recognizing the impact of individual actions, and communicating concerns and improvement ideas. Other duties may be assigned to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Occasional bending of the neck.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending of the waist.
• Frequent twisting at the neck.
• Constant standing up to 10 hours per shift.
• Constant twisting at the waist.
• Constant simple grasping.
• Constant power grasping.
• Constant pushing/pulling.
• Constant reaching above, at, and below shoulder level.
• Constant repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms, and hands.
• Constant use of vision.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment that ranges between 34-40 degrees.
• Must be able to work around ingredients that contain allergens.
• Must be able to work around loud equipment/machinery.
• Must be able to walk around drains, footbaths, and hoses.
• Must be able to work in a wet environment.
• Must wear hearing protection, protective eyewear, hair net/beard net, liners, smock, gloves, and slip-resistant footwear.

Responsibilities
