About The Position

Commonwealth University – Bloomsburg’s Division of Theatre & Dance seeks applicants for temporary Dance faculty positions (full-time one semester, part-time one semester or part-time academic year) as needs arise. The mission of the Division of Theatre and Dance is to provide a strong undergraduate education in the theory and practice of theatre and dance, to support the University’s general education curriculum, and to enhance the cultural life of the campus community. The division’s goal is to develop students’ working knowledge and application of historical and contemporary theories and practices in performance, design and technology, and dramatic and critical literature. Responsibilities

  • Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach introductory and/or upper-level courses in dance.
  • Possible assignments include, but are not limited to, Beginning Jazz/Ballet, Beginning/Intermediate Modern, Intermediate Ballet or Jazz, Advanced Ballet, Jazz, or Modern, or other specialty courses in the area.
  • Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of teaching select classes online and/or in a hybrid manner.
  • The location for these temporary positions varies with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
  • At the present time, the Dance program is based solely at the CU-Bloomsburg Campus
