About The Position

The Cylinder Handler loads, unloads, sorts, inspects, and moves compressed gas cylinders and other products, including cryogenic liquid cylinders and hazardous materials. The role supports inventory management, customer order fulfillment, shipment documentation, and cylinder maintenance. It also requires completing fill-process documentation in accordance with safety and quality requirements, maintaining an orderly work area, and following company safety policies.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Good physical condition and ability to roll cylinders weighing over 200 pounds and lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
• Ability to work flexible hours, with starting and quitting times varying within 2–3 hours.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of manufacturing or plant experience.
• Experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload compressed gas cylinders and other products onto and off route trucks and trailers.
• Roll cylinders and operate a forklift truck to move compressed gas cylinders.
• Sort empty compressed gas cylinders by type.
• Check cylinder quantities, styles, and products, and assist with inventory.
• Review customer orders, pull items from full inventory, and load items onto trucks for delivery.
• Perform basic cylinder maintenance, including painting and labeling cylinders, and cleaning the work area.
• Handle cryogenic liquid cylinders and hazardous materials.
• Assist with shipment paperwork.
• Complete routine and non-routine daily and weekly assignments.
• Complete documentation and forms in compliance with safety and quality requirements during the fill process, and ensure products have accurate, legible, current labels and lot numbers.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workplace through proper housekeeping.
• Set a good example for employees by observing company policies and procedures.
• Report accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions, and obey safety rules.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and flame-retardant clothing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
