About The Position

This position is responsible for loading and unloading cylinders on vehicles, shipping and receiving cylinders, staging cylinders, and providing limited customer service. The role includes moving cylinders to designated destinations and ensuring product accuracy and safety. It reports to the Site or Operations Manager/Supervisor and interacts with customers, sales, management, and other operations personnel.

The job is very physical and involves loading and offloading cylinders and dewars on pallets, moving cylinders, and using a cylinder cart when moving them more than 15 feet. A forklift is used to load and offload trucks or move pallets. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Follow safety procedures and policies for handling and storing cylinders, equipment, containers, and materials.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cylinders on assigned trucks, tractors, or other designated areas throughout the location.
• Check cylinder identification, labels, valves, styles, fill status, paint needs, and markings, and follow procedures for safe storage.
• Secure loads before delivery by checking strapping, cylinder placement, correct cylinder selection, and proper tags.
• Follow safety procedures and policies to protect equipment, containers, and materials.
• Handle cylinders manually and with dollies, carts, and forklifts.
• Transport vehicles, including trucks, tractors, forklifts, and cylinder carts, to different dock locations as needed for loading or unloading.
• Perform housekeeping duties for safety and appearance.
• Adhere to quality assurance policies and standards and notify a supervisor of quality assurance problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
