About The Position

The Training Coordinator falls under the Employee Relations function of the Operations Unit and is responsible for developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for department staff and provider agency staff who work with children and families affected by abuse and neglect. This role ensures staff receive high-quality training on child protection practices, trauma-informed care, mandatory reporting requirements, case management, and evidence-based interventions. The Training Coordinator promotes professional development, compliance with regulatory standards, and continuous improvement in service delivery. This job requires the following documents to be obtained, reviewed as acceptable by the supervisor and re-obtained every five years: PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI Criminal History. A person in this position is expected to demonstrate the System of Care Practice Model which maximizes all resources around an individual or family. This system of care includes child and adult serving agencies and community partners that join with an individual or family to meet their goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work; or Bachelor’s in the Social Sciences; or Bachelor’s degree with 12 credits in the Social Sciences.
  • All to include one year of paid Social Services experience.
  • Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
  • Social Work is defined as providing services to families to help them attain a more satisfactory social, economic, mental or physical adjustment to their environment. Interviewing clients to obtain social histories, providing comprehensive information about agency programs/ services, determine eligibility for services, provide information and referral, navigate systems and negotiate/ advocate for services and formulate/ implement plans for change.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, and time management skills, with a proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and use of a private vehicle.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate training programs for child welfare professionals, social workers and other department staff.
  • Provide coaching and support to department staff related to case management processes.
  • Ensure training content reflects current laws, policies, best practices, and evidence-based approaches related to child abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment.
  • Monitor compliance with state, federal, and agency training requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate training, webinars, and staff development opportunities.
  • Utilize feedback from retention efforts and exit meetings to guide training development.
  • Analyze and evaluate results of training effectiveness through assessments, feedback surveys, and checklists for various processes.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to training programs based on evaluation results.
  • Develop training materials, presentations, manuals, and online learning resources.
  • Assess organizational training needs through surveys, QA audits, and annual inspection results.
  • Create annual training plans and schedules to include maintaining training calendars and coordinating logistics, such as venues, technology, participant registration, and attendance.
  • Build partnerships with state OCYF, the CWRC and colleges/universities and other potential training resources
  • Prepare reports on training activities and outcomes.
  • Support licensure and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist and support Employee Relations functions as needed.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that all staff meet their required annual training pursuant to the regulations
  • Will manage undergraduate internship, CWEB program and CWEL program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
