About The Position

Aerodyne Industries is seeking a Cybersecurity System Administrator to join their team on the COMET contract at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. This role supports ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations for various NASA programs including the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion MultiPurpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. The position involves deploying, monitoring, and maintaining cybersecurity tools, collaborating with teams to improve system security, troubleshooting issues, ensuring system hardening and compliance, performing system upgrades, and acting as an escalation point for technical issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in related field with at least 4 years of IT experience or 6 years IT experience.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix/Windows system administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation of tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, monitor and maintain cybersecurity tools across multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with team and system owner to proactively identify and resolve potential technical issues and or improve the systems security posture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cybersecurity tool performance, data accuracy, and availability.
  • Ensure that systems are hardened and maintain compliance with cybersecurity standards.
  • Perform periodic systems upgrades and patches in between critical operations.
  • Proficient with Vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, and analyzing vulnerability scan results, assessing risk levels, and prioritizing remediation efforts.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues encountered by system administrators.
  • Define, document and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation.
