Requirements
- Currently a student with an interest in Cyber Security
- Strong academic record, 3.5 GPA or greater
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.
- Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
- Must be committed to working a 20-hour work week for 8 week during the summer months
Responsibilities
- Monitoring network traffic for unusual activity
- Reviewing logs from firewalls, antivirus tools, and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems
- Helping identify system and network vulnerabilities using tools like Nessus, OpenVAS, or Qualys
- Assisting in scanning and documenting security weaknesses
- Aiding in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security breaches
- Learning to document incidents and remediation steps
- Researching emerging cybersecurity tools and best practices
