About The Position

The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for protecting Centrus Energy’s digital assets and infrastructure from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring, research, investigation, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, implementing security measures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or another related field.
  • 4 years minimum in cybersecurity.
  • Ability to receive a DOE “Q” clearance within 6 months.
  • DOE or DoD Clearance holder current or recent.
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • CISSP.
  • Splunk, Crowdstrike, Palo Alto, Microsoft.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security principles.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and incident response.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure of competing priorities.
  • Continuous learning mindset to keep up with evolving threats.
  • Strong ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Enjoy teamwork and collaboration with co-workers in a fast-paced company.
  • Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
  • Must be tested for the absence of any illegal drug prior to an offer of employment being made.
  • Will be part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Must pass a background investigation by the Federal government.
  • Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network traffic, systems, and applications for suspicious activity.
  • Analyze security alerts and logs to identify potential threats or breaches.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents promptly.
  • Document findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Write corporate and internal IT security guidelines, policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in audits and compliance reporting (NIST SP 800-171).
  • Monitor and optimize security tools such as Splunk SIEM, Crowdstrike Falcon, Palo Alto, Rapid7 VMS.
  • Working knowledge of MS Intune MDM, M365, MS Entra.
  • Vet new software and services for cybersecurity concerns.
  • AI research into leading offerings including benefits and risk analysis.
  • Support security awareness programs for employees with KnowBe4.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for secure computing.
  • Stay current with emerging threats and technologies.
