About The Position

Our Toronto office is seeking undergraduate students to join the team as a Co-op in Winter 2027 as a part of our Risk Services, Cyber Security practice. Our commitment extends to detecting, responding to, and remediating threats effectively. As a Co-op Student, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in using Excel for data analysis, reporting, and project tracking. Experience with advanced Excel functions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage project documentation and reporting.
  • Understanding and knowledge of managing aspects of cyber risk, including assessment, analysis and reporting of cyber risk in a business context.
  • Understanding and applying risk management principles to effectively manage cyber risk.
  • Implementing business resilience strategies to minimize the impact of a cyber incident.
  • All considered applicants must have or will obtain legal authorization to work in Canada by the start date of employment.
  • Due to the highly confidential nature of working with federal government departments, some practices within Cyber Security require candidates to be eligible for Secret-level security clearance. This process requires Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, as mandated by the Government of Canada’s security screening standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools or analytics platforms is considered an asset, along with comfort in leveraging AI to enhance efficiency, generate insights, or support problem‑solving, and a demonstrated interest in how these technologies can be applied in professional settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the project manager with day-to-day activities, ensuring smooth project execution and coordination.
  • Oversee and maintain the project planning tool (an Excel-based tool), ensuring that all project timelines and deliverables are accurately tracked.
  • Send out daily status reports to stakeholders, summarizing project progress, and any issues that may arise.
  • Assist with and execute technical cyber-related tasks with our operational teams.
  • Assist in developing executive-level weekly reports and metrics, providing insights into project performance and status.
  • Engage in various ad-hoc project management-related tasks, such as managing the RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) log and tracking team vacations.
  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients.
  • Understand and help solve our clients’ cybersecurity problems.
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen.
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your KPMG brand.
