About The Position

General Medicine is a healthcare store where customers can shop for medications, labs, telehealth, specialist e-consults, and select in-person visits and procedures, with upfront pricing and easy booking. Founded by the team behind PillPack and Amazon Pharmacy, the company is building systems to make these services easier to access. The CX Marketing Developer is a hands-on role supporting customer experience projects through email and web production. The position involves coding, building, and testing emails; setting up campaigns and journeys; and coding and launching lightweight web pages that follow the company’s design system.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience coding production email by hand, including table-based layouts, inline CSS, MSO conditional code, and bulletproof buttons.
  • Deep knowledge of email client rendering quirks across providers.
  • Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills for responsive, accessible web pages.
  • Comfort working across Rails and Next/React.
  • Solid SQL skills to verify production data independently.
  • Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, owning QA, and working closely with design.
  • Hands-on experience building and launching lifecycle campaigns and journeys in an ESP or marketing automation platform.
  • Knowledge of proper test setup and hygiene.
  • Comfort working from Figma files and translating designs faithfully.
  • Strong attention to detail and a habit of testing before shipping.
  • Ability to keep builds clean, modular, and easy for others to edit.
  • Ability to move quickly across many small production requests.
  • Applicants should include a portfolio or code samples showing both email and web work; live links or screenshots with rendering test results are ideal.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Iterable.
  • Experience hosting assets via a CDN and working with custom fonts.
  • Experience in healthcare, fintech, or another regulated industry.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards for email and web.
  • Basic Git and version control habits.

Responsibilities

  • Code responsive, cross-client HTML emails from Figma designs and specifications.
  • Build and maintain a modular email template library, including dark mode support.
  • Build landing pages and other lightweight web pages that match the design system.
  • Set up campaigns and multi-step journeys, including audience logic, triggers, timing, and suppression.
  • Set up A/B and multivariate tests.
  • Configure templates, merge tags, dynamic content, and personalization.
  • Quality-assure builds across major email clients and devices, and across browsers for web.
  • Troubleshoot rendering, deliverability-adjacent, and journey logic issues.
  • Document templates and processes so others can reuse them.
