CVOR Registered Nurse RN- Surgery Operating Room
About The Position
The CVOR Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect perioperative patient care in the Main OR and Cardiovascular OR. The nurse uses the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The role coordinates patient care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, guides OR technicians and other personnel, and maintains professional nursing standards. The RN collaborates with other departments and co-workers to support continuity and quality of care, efficient patient flow, and unit organization. The position also requires adherence to applicable regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies; participation in performance-improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services; and serving as a resource for other personnel as appropriate. This is a temporary 12-week position at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. The schedule is days, 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., in 8-hour shifts, with required on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
- One year of previous Cardiovascular OR experience.
- Current and valid state RN license.
- BLS (AHA) certification.
- ACLS (AHA) certification.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect perioperative patient care in the Main OR and Cardiovascular OR using the nursing process.
- Coordinate patient care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
- Direct and guide OR technicians and other personnel.
- Work with other departments to provide continuity of care and with co-workers to provide quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and unit maintenance and organization.
- Adhere to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
- Participate in performance-improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
- Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
- Participate in the required on-call rotation.
