About The Position

The Cutter Apprentice Web safely sets up and operates the machine according to the training program to produce quality product at each run's desired target speed. Team members are expected to act in accordance with Southern Champion Tray's Core Values and Operating Principles: being trustworthy, servant-hearted, relational, and resourceful. The role follows safety, food-safety, and 5S requirements and supports efficient operation and a clean work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic computer skills and ability to use software.
Mechanical ability and skills.
Ability to read and understand documents and letters, and write legibly in English.
Ability to understand and speak clearly in English, communicate, and understand directions as needed.

Responsibilities

Safely set up and operate the machine according to the training program to produce quality product at the desired target speed.
Stock the machine with materials needed for setup and die working.
Keep tools in their proper holding places and return borrowed tools when no longer needed.
Identify mechanical issues during setup and while observing the machine in operation.
Use downtime, other than approved breaks, to assist with setup or perform tasks that maintain a clean work environment, or as instructed by a supervisor.
Communicate effectively with other team members.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the task and work area.
Welcome process updates and improvements and follow new procedures and innovations that improve efficiency and safety.
Perform work in a way that minimizes downtime.
Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systems.
Follow safety policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Help with duties in other areas or departments when asked.
Perform other duties as assigned.
