Cut Off Operator
About The Position
The Cut Off Operator assists the Weld Mill Operator with changeovers, set up, and splicing on the tube mill. This role involves operating the lower end of the mill (Saw), continuously monitoring pipe size, ovality, length, straightness, inside flash, and the quality of the product being produced. The operator will also set up stencil equipment, perform maintenance on mills as required, and communicate and work with the Mill Operator on a team basis. Basic housekeeping in the general work area is expected, and the operator is responsible for completing any assignments given by the Supervisor, even those not specifically listed in the job description.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED, etc.)
- One to three months equivalent experience in related field OR, Proof of training in an area related to the job assignment
- Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, go/no-go gauges, grinding, operation of thickness gauges and depth gauges
- Moderate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.
Nice To Haves
- High frequency welding experience desired.
