About The Position

The Customs Compliance Specialist supports and ensures compliance with applicable customs laws, regulations, and internal policies across brokerage operations. The role provides compliance oversight and operational support, contributing to consistent, efficient, and compliant customs processes within its assigned scope. The specialist reviews customs declarations, identifies risks and corrective actions, supports post-entry work, and advises operations on compliance matters. The position also collaborates with internal stakeholders, supports audits and process improvements, and helps promote customs compliance awareness across the district.

Requirements

Relevant experience in customs operations or compliance.
Good understanding of customs regulations and procedures.
Proficiency in English.
Strong analytical skills.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with customs laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Support compliance oversight for customs procedures.
Review customs declarations and identify errors, risks, and corrective actions.
Support post-entry activities, including amendments and corrections.
Monitor key risk areas, such as transit discharge, export confirmation, and temporary storage.
Act as an escalation point for complex or high-risk customs cases.
Provide guidance and support to operations on customs compliance matters.
Support implementation of customs compliance initiatives and process improvements.
Collaborate with operations, product teams, and other stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with customs authorities and other governmental agencies when required.
Support internal audits and compliance controls.
Promote a strong compliance culture and awareness across the district.
Support data accuracy and integrity related to customs declarations and systems.
