About The Position

The Analyst Logistics Compliance Operations – Americas is responsible for daily import and export operations and activities, processes, policies, and procedures within the region. He/she will serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries on the import, export, and trade regulations. This individual will work with the customs brokers and forwarders to ensure compliance with applicable company policies and import/ export regulations while ensuring the expeditious flow of goods. Additional duties include audit of import / export documentation, recordkeeping, AES filing, and trainings employees involved in the international trade.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Trade Compliance principles (customs valuation, incoterms, license and permits, country of origin, HTS/ ECCN classifications, duty optimization / Free Trade Agreements, export controls and sanctions etc.)
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, other government agencies (FDA, USDA, etc) importing regulations, EAR & Census Trade requirements.
  • Demonstrate analytical and change management skills, critical thinking, and problem solving with experience in risk management processes and gap analysis.
  • Familiar with databases, enterprise resource planning (ERP), global trade automation solutions, and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) functionality.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficient recordkeeping and database maintenance skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with ability to implement and conduct training.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, problem solving, and time management skills to meet or exceed deadlines, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong ability to create innovative solutions from existing resources.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently to make effective decisions in a timely manner.
  • U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or equivalent working permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding and experience with the importation and exportation of medical devices.
  • Experience in conducting audits and assessing compliance risks.
  • Experience in SAP S4/ HANA and related transactional and outputs are preferred.
  • Previous customs compliance experience is preferred.
  • Six-Sigma experienced or CPIM preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with Incoterms rules.
  • Experience in managing Logistics Service Providers is a plus.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day export compliance and export control operations within the region, ensuring shipments comply with U.S. and foreign export regulations (EAR, OFAC, Customs) and company policies.
  • Classify products, technology, and software under U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including ECCN determinations, license exceptions, and licensing requirements.
  • Screen export transactions and parties for denied/restricted parties, embargoed destinations, sanctioned countries, and end‑use/end‑user risks; escalate and mitigate potential violations.
  • Provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders on export control requirements for standard, hand-carry, carnet, routed export, and urgent shipments involving CBP, Department of Commerce, FDA, USDA, and other global agencies.
  • Prepare, review, and audit export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipper’s letters of instruction (SLI), certifications, and accurate Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings through ACE.
  • Respond to and resolve inquiries from internal teams, service providers, and government agencies related to export documentation, government holds, export control reviews, and compliance inquiries.
  • Manage and audit export recordkeeping to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with corporate record retention policies and export control regulations.
  • Create, maintain, and manage broker and forwarder SOPs and POAs, including FPPI authorizations for routed export transactions, ensuring alignment with export control responsibilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate freight forwarders and customs brokers against export compliance SOPs and KPIs; maintain scorecards and lead corrective action plans for non‑compliance.
  • Develop export compliance, export control, risk assessment, and service provider performance reports for management, including tracking compliance improvement plans.
  • Partner with IT and Centers of Excellence to improve export data integrity, automate controls, support system enhancements, testing, and implementation of compliance solutions.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and enforcement trends, update export procedures accordingly, provide training to internal teams, and support C‑TPAT validations and cross‑functional compliance initiatives.
