About The Position

Xylem is looking for a Trade Compliance Analyst to support our Americas Water Systems(AWS) business segment. The Trade Compliance Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in global trade operations, ensuring compliant, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods across international borders. This role is responsible for managing import and export logistics across multiple transportation modes, maintaining compliance with U.S. Customs and international trade regulations, and coordinating closely with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and logistics partners to support on-time delivery and business continuity.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in Supply Chain Management or a related field with at least 2 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Good understanding of international trade laws and customs regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and trends.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings and make recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to group projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze import and export data
  • Identify trends and patterns in data
  • Create reports and presentations to communicate findings
  • Propose strategies for improving import and export processes
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, Department of Commerce and Treasury requirements, and internal company trade policies.
  • Manage Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), and country-of-origin determinations; accurately maintain records in ERP systems.
  • Manage customs brokers acting on behalf of the business for customs entry activities including regular communication, responding to entry questions, administering a broker SOP, post-entry audit, providing classification and other data, and tracking/reporting broker performance metrics.
  • Administer daily foreign trade compliance activities using trade management software.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable import and export documentation and records.
  • Assist in the review of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) documentation and coordinate with third party qualifiers.
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, and government agencies
  • Coordinate with different departments within the company to ensure smooth import and export operations
  • Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to manage shipments
  • Handle inquiries and resolve any issues related to import and export activities
  • Analyze import and export costs and identify areas for cost savings
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with suppliers and carriers
  • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies
  • Monitor and report on import and export expenses
  • Create and maintain accurate import and export documentation
  • Ensure all required documents are submitted to customs and other relevant authorities
  • Keep records of all import and export activities
  • Verify and reconcile invoices and payments related to import and export transactions
  • Evaluate current import and export processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Train and educate team members on new processes and procedures
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes.
