About The Position

The Customs Brokerage Agent supports the customs process by ensuring timely, accurate processing and data entry, tracking and reporting on customs files, and handling client billing. The role interprets customs desk-level operating procedures and customer instructions, transfers information from documents into the customs entry system to prepare valid declarations, assists with verification and submission of declarations to customs authorities, and maintains compliance with applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of customs brokerage processes and customs legislation, especially classification, valuation, and origin.
• Understanding of ocean, road, and air documentation processes.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Proactive approach and strong organizational and computer skills.
• Good computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Word.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operational system.
• Track and trace customs files and provide reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely client billing.
• Understand and correctly interpret import and export customs desk-level operating procedures to meet customer instructions and expectations.
• Transfer customs declaration information from documents or other sources into the customs entry system to build valid customs declarations.
• Assist with verifying customs declaration information and submitting it to the customs authority.
• Ensure compliance with regulations at all times.
