About The Position

This internship is more than a summer experience — offering mentorship, training, and meaningful, hands-on work that helps you build confidence, develop new skills, and take real steps toward your career goals. The internship provides technical and engineering coordination between the customer, Marketing and Engineering/Manufacturing. It involves preparing technical proposals and problem summaries for company-wide usage, and providing Service facilities, Field Service personnel and aircraft operators with technical assistance regarding all Fleet Programs. Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks. Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in: Aircraft Management, Aerospace Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Other related field
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work in a team environment to meet department level objectives
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application.
  • Must be eligible to meet any requirements to access controlled information under U.S. export control laws.
  • Must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical data and problem summaries from field reports and inspection summaries to brief marketing, engineering and manufacturing functions on field problems.
  • Sustain technical files of existing and potential product improvements and serialized production changes.
  • Analyze discrepancy reports concerning Textron Aviation Fleet Program products.
  • Coordinate corrective action with Manufacturing.
  • Act as liaison between Field Service and Manufacturing on customer problems and corrective measures.
  • Support the on-site assistance at company owned service centers and independent service stations during investigation of unique aircraft problems or prototype installation.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical programs for operators conferences and technical seminars.
  • Support the team and assist with the coordination of equipment suppliers to achieve maximum reliability from installed equipment on Textron Aviation products.
