About The Position

Fastenal is hiring a full-time, entry-level Customer Site Packaging employee at its customer site in Lafayette, Indiana. The role facilitates the movement of product through the customer site by inspecting and packaging products and operating packaging machines. The position involves computer use, repetitive tasks, and maintaining an organized work area. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. Requirements

Be 18 years of age or older due to the nature of the work.
Have proficient written and oral communication skills.
Have proficient computer skills.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
Be willing to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Work independently and in a team environment.
Be willing to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and potentially up to 100 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).

Responsibilities

Inspect and package product.
Use a computer to perform job duties.
Run a variety of packaging machines.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Comply with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
Participate in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Learn, pass, and practice environmental health and safety trainings.
