This role is responsible for learning and maintaining knowledge of the patient database and billing system, ensuring proper phone etiquette, and representing the company professionally. The representative will obtain and enter patient demographic and health insurance information, collect co-pays, and verify insurance benefits. A working knowledge of Medicare and insurance regulations is required, along with the ability to effectively read and understand medical documentation. The position involves interacting professionally with physicians, patients/families, and co-workers, scheduling set-ups, and answering telephones politely. Effective communication with management and co-workers is essential for patient benefit. The role requires initiative, a steady level of productivity, and self-organization. Decision-making should reflect knowledge of facts and good judgment within the scope of practice. The representative will manage computer equipment safely and correctly and complete other assigned duties.
