PT Cashier - Customer Service Representative
About The Position
The Customer Service Representative works in a thrift store and is primarily responsible for checkout procedures, customer assistance, and helping sort, price, and arrange merchandise for sale. The position reports directly to the Thrift Store Manager and is eligible for overtime pay. This is a full-time role scheduled for 32 to 40 hours per week, paying $15.00 per hour. The role represents Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises to donors, customers, and the public, providing professional and courteous service. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, as required by Florida law. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively with individuals and small groups.
- Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Working knowledge of cash registers and general office equipment.
- Ability to interact with customers and donors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Working knowledge of retail store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory, and pricing.
- Ability to produce a high quantity and quality of work.
- Ability to plan and organize work and meet deadlines.
- Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Responsibilities

- Represent Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises positively to donors, customers, and the general public.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
