About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer assistance and help maintain equipment at a U-Haul center. The role involves serving as part of a supportive team, assisting customers with products and services, and using current technology to dispatch and return rental equipment. On-the-job education is offered, including ongoing training through U-Haul University. U-Haul advertises paid working interviews, a hiring bonus, and a cash bonus upon completing its Equipment Inspection and Verification certification program. The job is located at 256 Genesee St, Auburn, New York 13021. The compensation range is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and a high school diploma or equivalent are required. The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, including working near moving machinery and exposure to fumes or irritant chemicals. Protective gear may be required. The job also involves physical activity, including remaining stationary for extended periods, moving indoors and outdoors, reaching at different heights, and moving equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and educate customers about products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; U-Haul certification is offered after employment.
Drive a forklift; U-Haul certification is offered after employment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
