About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer service at its Alexandria, Louisiana location. The role works as part of a supportive team, helping customers with U-Haul products and services, rental transactions, equipment dispatch and returns, and equipment inspection and maintenance. Employees receive on-the-job education and participate in ongoing training through U-Haul University. U-Haul also offers paid hands-on working interviews, a hiring bonus, and a cash bonus upon completion of its equipment inspection and verification certification program. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The position involves working around equipment and machinery, indoors and outdoors, and may require protective gear. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine product users in certain listed states; Louisiana is not among those states.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.
Ability to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer questions and educate customers about products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
