Customer Service Representative
About The Position
U-Haul is seeking a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer service at a U-Haul center in Erie, Pennsylvania. Working as part of a supportive team, the representative assists customers with U-Haul products and services, helps dispatch and return equipment using current technology, and inspects and maintains equipment. On-the-job education is provided, including ongoing learning through U-Haul University. U-Haul offers paid hands-on working interviews, a hiring bonus, and a cash bonus upon completion of its equipment inspection and verification certification program.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
- Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
- Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
- Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
- Answer questions and educate customers about products and services.
- Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
- Install hitches and trailer wiring.
- Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
- Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
