About The Position

The Customer Service Representative works as part of a supportive team to provide customer service at a U-Haul center. The role involves helping customers with U-Haul products and services, managing equipment rentals and returns using smartphone-based technology, and inspecting and maintaining equipment. The position offers on-the-job education and ongoing learning through U-Haul University. U-Haul also describes paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of its Equipment Inspection and Verification certification program.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
• Answer customer questions and explain products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
• Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
• Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
