The representative will place customer orders via various methods including telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in. A key aspect of the role is influencing Motion Industries' gross profit through negotiating sale and purchase prices within defined parameters. The position may also involve adjusting non-contract customer pricing to meet competitive demands while maximizing profit. Building customer relationships to drive repeat business and process improvements is essential. The representative will order items to maintain appropriate inventory levels and may place orders without approval for amounts up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order. Responsibilities include sourcing products from branch inventory, distribution center inventory, or supplier inventory, and determining the most cost-effective shipping method. The role requires partnering with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and expediting backorders, potentially including pulling inventory and preparing orders for shipment. Handling customer returns and performing other assigned duties are also part of the role.
