About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer assistance and help maintain equipment at a U-Haul center. The role includes using smartphone-based technology to dispatch and return equipment, managing rentals and inventory, preparing invoices, and educating customers about U-Haul products and services. On-the-job education is provided, including opportunities to earn certifications for propane filling and forklift operation. The position also includes ongoing education through U-Haul University. The role is located at 9009 Waukegan Rd, Morton Grove, Illinois 60053. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Ability to move equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
Applicants must not use nicotine products in the states listed in the job posting.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and explain products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rentals.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
