About The Position

The Customer Service Representative works as part of a supportive team to provide customer service at a U-Haul center. The role assists customers with U-Haul products and services, uses current technology to dispatch and return equipment, and inspects and maintains equipment. On-the-job education is provided, including ongoing learning through U-Haul University. U-Haul offers two paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completing the Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Certifications for propane filling and forklift operation are offered after employment. The position is located at 1200 Alabama St, Redlands, California 92374, and is not eligible for employer sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work without requiring employer sponsorship.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work without requiring employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and explain products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
