About The Position

West Point Insurance Services is seeking an experienced billing representative to support property and casualty insurance operations. This office-based position handles billing and payment inquiries from insureds, agents, and mortgage companies, and processes payments and related billing transactions. The role is located in Pinellas Park, Florida, and is not available remotely. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 37.5-hour workweek.

Requirements

• High school diploma or greater.
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations appropriately.
• Comfort with math concepts and problem solving.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a paperless environment using various electronic policy-processing application systems.

Nice To Haves

• Insurance background is preferred, but not required.
• One to three years of call center experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls from insureds, agents, and mortgage companies about payments due, billing cycles, and cancellations related to premium payments.
• Download, import, and post payments supplied by banks after payment files have been batched.
• Process non-sufficient-funds (NSF) payments returned by the bank.
• Establish payment plans offered by client companies at the insured’s request.
• Respond to inquiries from insureds and agents by telephone, email, or chat.
